A Shirt Story is a curated collection of thrift shop finds. Each cotton shirt is repurposed, upcycled and one of a kind with charm suitable for all genders. The collar and cuffs are reworked and frayed. New buttons add sparkle.

From the Founder:

“ I love men’s shirts, especially ones that are worn oxford cotton and slightly oversized. When a few of my dad’s Brooks Brothers shirts were on the donation pile, the wheels started turning. I got out the scissors and sourced some fun buttons.

Now that I see my shirts in action, I appreciate how adaptive a well loved men’s cotton shirt can be whether it is tucked in or out, buttoned to the collar or unbuttoned or tied at the waist. I have had requests for beach cover-ups and black tie tuxedo shirts too.

Shopping resale stores, altering the shirts and sewing is a big change from my years as a fashion editor. And it is amazing. I feel connected to a movement of slow fashion versus fast fashion and extending the life of quality pieces that deserve another chapter. Don’t get me wrong, I am a Fashion - with a capital F - fan forever. Quality, style and creativity is what it is all about.”
